Evren Efe Kabagöz

I graduated from Ankara University in 1999. I personally divide my professional career into two distinct periods: the manufacturing industry and the certification industry. During the first five years following my graduation, I worked in quality assurance at a company producing aseptic food products, followed by positions in quality assurance and research and development at another facility specializing in fruit preparations and fruit purees.

As I often mention during my training sessions, working at the same facility and dealing with the same processes every day eventually stopped meeting my professional expectations. While searching for a more dynamic career that would still allow me to utilize my technical expertise, I found myself in the certification industry. In 2004, I joined SGS as an auditor and trainer responsible for food-related standards. During my time there, I developed expertise in standards such as IFS, BRC Food, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, and ISO 9001.

In 2008, I joined Intertek, where I established the Food Auditing and Certification Department and managed it as Department Manager until 2012. In addition to food safety audits, I conducted audits and delivered training on the ISO 22716 Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standard for the cosmetics industry. I also began delivering training as a BRC Approved Trainer.

In 2012, I joined SAI Global, which had recently entered the Turkish market, as General Manager. Over approximately eight years, my team and I successfully developed this newly established company into one of Türkiye’s most prestigious certification bodies. Throughout my tenure as General Manager, I continued actively conducting IFS and BRC Food audits and delivering professional training programs.

As of April 2020, I was appointed by BRCGS as its representative in Türkiye. This means that professionals working with BRCGS standards in the Turkish market now have a local contact who speaks their language and whom they can directly approach whenever they need assistance. I am excited to be part of the BRCGS family in this role.

I am also one of the founding partners of Integral Bureau. Drawing on the expertise and competencies I have gained throughout my 20-year professional career, I continue to provide consulting services and deliver training programs focused on product safety and international standards.
